GSMCA Racing Rules

We would like to have a fair and equal opportunity for all racers competing in a GSMCA event.  We will abide by the rules set forth by MMRA and use the sealed motor program of EES.  The EES sealed motor is required for Future Stars division and recommended for the Open division to reduce tech time and engine tear down.  Any GSMCA officer may inspect any car for tech or safety issues at any time.  We will adhere to the penalties set forth by MMRA with the exception of fuel, oil and engine penalties.  These penalties will be more severe and will include loss of points depending on the infraction.

Approved fuel will be available for purchase at the race track, we will require that you purchase your fuel from our supply to help insure there are no infractions.

We will be running the same Hoosier spec tire that is approved by MMRA.  Garrison Racing will keep a supply of these tires and will be at GSMCA events.

All illegal parts found in post race inspection will be confiscated.

GSMCA Championship Rules and Stipulations

To qualify for GSMCA points series you must participate in a minimum of 14 GSMCA races in the Future Stars division and a minimum of 10 GSMCA races for the Open division.  There will be no transfer of points from one class to another during the year.  Anyone completing the required minimum of races for the respective class will be eligible for any awards, giveaways, etc. at the end of the year.  Anyone participating in at least 8 but less than the required minimum for their respective class will receive a participation trophy.   There will be no points championship for modified division.

Anyone found to have a rules infraction such as oil, fuel or altered parts will be given a zero to be included as one of their points races.   If you are caught a 2nd time with a rules infraction you will receive a zero as well as a 30 day suspension from GSMCA events.

Stipulations of Racing in the Open Class

If you are between the ages of 10 and 16 and have prior racing experience you must compete in a minimum of 3 Future Stars races before moving to Open. If you do not have any prior racing experience you must race in the Future Stars class for one year before moving to Open. If you are 17 or older you must run in the open class regardless of prior experience.  Drivers age 10 and older with racing experience will have the option of competing in the Open class. Drivers over 10 years of age who elect to run Open must have a minimum of one year of verifiable racing experience. Drivers age 10 and older with prior experience from another series or type of racing other than Minicup who elect to compete in the Open class will be required to complete 3 Future Stars races before being allowed to race in the Open class. Drivers age 10 and older with a minimum of one full year (12 races minimum in the previous calendar year) of competition in Future Stars will be allowed to run open. Please be prepared to supply a form of verification of age and driver resume when preparing to run Open at any age less than 16. Drivers above maximum age for Future Stars are required to run Open as per MMRA rules regardless of level of experience.

Stipulations of Racing in the Modified Division
To participate in the modified division you must run a Honda 390 block and head and there will be no transmissions allowed.  The minimum weight will be 750 lbs. and the minimum age will be 16 years old.  Driver must show driver's license as proof of age.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  The modified division will not be required to pay any MMRA fees to race but will be required to meet all MMRA safety requirements.  Modified cars and drivers will be required to go through a pre-race safety inspection.

GSMCA Shock Rules

GSMCA will now be allowing an additional shock.  This is a Pro shock, part # SB53 and SB51
This shock is a cross reference shock to the Afco shock currently allowed.  This is a non adjustable shock that is virtually the same as the Afco.  These shocks may not be mixed and matched with any other shocks.  If the Pro shocks are used they must be applied in the same form as the Afco e.g. SB53 on the front and SB51 on the rear.  If you choose to run the Pro shocks you must run all 4 shocks as the same brand.  This is simply an effort to make our cars more compatible and easier for other clubs to race with us and increase car counts.  The spring rates for Future Stars is mandated by MMRA and there will be a 3% tolerance on those rates allowed by GSMCA.  The spring rate for the Open division is also mandated by MMRA but there will be no tolerance on spring rate allowed because there is currently a range allowance to work within.
